About me
A Brief Auto-bio
I'll get straight to the point; I'm a gracefully aging Baby Boomer Rock & Roller of the 60s & 70s. My musical passion was born of that era and nurtured by all the great pop icons you see on my Front Page image slider.
The Beatles were – and still are – my all-time favourite band. When they hit the scene, I took up the drums. That was soon followed by my learning the guitar and electric bass. I also tried my hand at songwriting, but that didn't go anywhere – yet.
I became quite popular in my last year at High School (in Montreal) playing in local "Battle of the Bands" and singing Bob Dylan songs in the cafeteria during lunch hour.
I played drums in a number of local bands, and electric bass in one that made an appearance at Expo67 in an outdoor bandshell – we were called "The Blast" (owing to the fact that we were a crazy bunch of kids just "having a blast" playing rock & roll music like there was no tomorrow.
I loved playing in bands, but the constant breakups, makeups and reshuffling of players eventually got to me, so I went on my own for a number of years doing the one-man guitar-over-my-shoulder troubadour trip, hitch-hiking my way across the country, playing coffee houses and little-known dives.
In my mid-life (and to date), fate had serendipitously shuttled me into shamanism, the finding of which was really the culmination of a "spiritual quest" I started in my teens – I even wrote a book about all that, which you can find here. I spent a good number of years conducting seminars in this field.
I put music on the back burner, but never turned the stove off. At the turn of the millennium, I once again craved forming a band. I got one together for a while, but it didn't last.
Then one day, I saw a street-musician playing six instruments simultaneously – every part of his body was playing something – and that's where my one-man-show was born. I realized that since I play all the basic instruments of a band (bass, drums, guitar & keyboards), all I'd have to do is record all the parts, except for what I want to play live, and I would have an act.
The best part of this, at least for me, is that I can now play all my favourite songs anytime. The best part for my clients, which is you, is that you get to go down Memory Lane and revisit bygone good times and cherished fond memories.
Is that cool, or what? "Nostalgia" is hot, baby! And so, here I am, playing Golden Oldies all night long to please both young and old alike, as well as every gracefully ripening Baby Boomer out there... Ya gotta know: we don't grow old, and we never die. Like fine wine, we just get better with age.
